About Competition

The Minifootball World Cup is the pinnacle event in the sport, and the largest competition organized by the World Minifootball Federation (WMF). Played in the 6-a-side category, it takes place every two years, drawing teams from across the globe to vie for the title of Minifootball World Champions.

In 2024, the WMF is proud to introduce two extraordinary tournaments:

The Women’s Minifootball World Cup 2024 and the U23 Minifootball World Cup 2024, both of which will be hosted in the picturesque town of Mali Lošinj, Croatia. These events are set to run from October 7th to October 10th, 2024, against the backdrop of Croatia's stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage, providing an unforgettable setting for this premier international showcase.

The Women’s Minifootball World Cup will feature 8 national teams from different corners of the world, while the U23 Minifootball World Cup will bring together the most talented young players in the sport. These tournaments will highlight the diversity and skill that define Minifootball, with passionate amateur players displaying remarkable abilities and competing at an exceptional level.

Previous editions of the Minifootball World Cup have set a high standard for global competition. The 2023 edition, held in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, from October 26th to November 4th, was a spectacular event. The tournament’s location, known for its breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture, provided a perfect stage for international competition, bringing together 32 national teams from around the world.

Since its inception in 2015, with tournaments hosted in the United States, Tunisia, and Australia, the Minifootball World Cup has been an exhilarating journey. Each edition has seen new champions rise, with the United States, the Czech Republic, and Mexico claiming titles in 2015, 2017, and 2019, respectively.

In addition to the action-packed matches, the Minifootball World Cup offers a rich fan experience, complete with fan zones where spectators can enjoy live game broadcasts, savor local cuisine, and participate in cultural events that celebrate the host country’s traditions. This unique blend of sport, culture, and global unity makes the Minifootball World Cup more than just a tournament—it’s a celebration of friendship and shared passion across different cultures.
